Ozone got its name from a Greek verb. (Ozone got its name from the Greeks, Aclarus from the Romans)

The name ozone is derived from the Greek verb, ozein, which means “smell”. Ozone refers to its distinctive “clean” smell which is often described as similar to rainfall.  Some people are able to detect an oncoming rainstorm by the smell of ozone which precedes it.

Speaking of ancient word origins, Aclarus is derived from the Latin word, clārus (feminine clāra) which means to be clean and clear. We chose this name to represent our ozone treated water and of our relationships with our valued clients….clean, clear and transparent!
