Sanitation and Clean in Place (CIP)

Sanitation and Clean in Place (CIP) Water

Aclarus designs and engineers proprietary ozone solutions for sanitation and Clean In Place (CIP) for a variety of industrial applications including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food processing, beverages, dairies, wineries and breweries.

Ozone is applied as a final sanitation rinse following standard cleaning practices. Ozone does not require chemicals, such as chlorine, or hot water. Aclarus’ closed loop CIP system can be incorporated into the sanitation process to provide reuse water and significantly reduce water use and costs.

Ozone has been used for water disinfection for more than 100 years, however prior to the 1970’s chlorine was the global standard for sanitation. When it was discovered that chlorine treatment created toxic THM’s, interest in ozone significantly increased. Ozone is now used for sanitation and CIP in multiple industries because it is universally recognized as safe and more effective than chlorine.

Ozone is the fastest growing technology in the global water disinfection market today.

Here’s why Aclarus Ozone is the superior solution for sanitation and Clean In Place (CIP):

✓ Experienced Team

Our team of water professionals have engineered and installed more than 1000 Aclarus ozone systems. We work with you to ensure your system delivers exactly what was specified.

✓ Proprietary Technology

Aclarus proprietary ozone technology is engineered and rigorously tested to meet your exact specifications and wastewater requirements. We provide comprehensive on-site and in-house laboratory testing.

✓ Meets / Exceeds Regulations

Aclarus Ozone is food safe and compliant with Health Canada, The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

More Effective Than Chlorine

Ozone is more effective than chlorine in destroying viruses and bacteria. Aclarus Ozone is a very strong chemical-free disinfectant effective at treating the most complex water problems. The Aclarus Treatment List includes pathogens (bacteria, viruses, cysts), contaminants (metals, inorganics, organics) and contaminants of emerging concern (pharmaceuticals, microplastics, petrochemicals, PFA’s).

✓ Quick Return on Investment (ROI)

Aclarus Ozone offers a quick return on investment (ROI). The elimination or reduction of chemicals (such as chlorine and PAA), no hot water requirement and the ability to reuse water are significant cost saving benefits.

✓ High Flow, Short Contact Time

Aclarus high flow ozone treatment process requires relatively short contact time, approximately 10 to 30 seconds. Our systems run on-demand with exceptionally high uptime performance.

✓ Dissolved Oxygen

Aclarus Ozone increases the dissolved oxygen content in the effluent which can eliminate the need for reaeration and elevate the dissolved oxygen content in the receiving waterway.

✓ Comprehensive Treatment

Aclarus Ozone is a comprehensive treatment solution that provides disinfection, oxidation and aesthetic water treatment.

✓ Lowest Lifecycle Cost

Aclarus Ozone has the lowest life cycle cost versus chlorine and UV. The average water treatment cost is 5-10 cents per 1m3.

✓ Compact and Modular

Aclarus Ozone systems are compact, modular and easily retro-fit on a small footprint within existing infrastructure.

✓ Automated With Minimal Maintenance

Aclarus Ozone systems are automated and require minimal maintenance. They are also safer for operators to maintain because don’t require chemicals that need to be monitored, stored on site or handled.

✓ Lifetime Support

Aclarus commitment to customer service provides assurance that you’ll receive reliable, responsive support for the life of your system.

Sanitation and Clean in Place (CIP) Case Study

Central Smith Ice Cream Case Study

Central Smith was seeking a better solution to treat challenging well water contaminants. The well water is used for every aspect of their business from ice cream production, packaging, equipment cleaning, the cooling tower, as well as the kitchen and bathroom facilities. Water treatment had been an ongoing challenge for decades. The hard well water was hard on the equipment due to the constant clogging, and also made cleaning and sanitizing difficult. Everything was a challenge.
