Restaurant Pearl Morissette depends on clean, high-quality water to provide drinking water to its restaurant clientele.
While the restaurant is connected to the municipal water system, it was looking for an environmentally friendly way to provide its customers with premium drinking water without having to resort to bottled water. In 2018, Restaurant Pearl Morrissette contacted Aclarus for a solution to treat their municipal water for drinking purposes.
THE ACLARUS SOLUTION
Aclarus system designers worked with Restaurant Pearl Morissette to determine key factors like the flow rate of the water, the treatment required and ultimately the required ozone “dose” and system design that was necessary for success.
Once Aclarus installed the system, the restaurant used the ozonated water for its primary needs – producing premium drinking water, as well as cleaning and sanitizing. In addition, they employed the system to: clean and sanitize fresh produce and foraged wild herbs; clean the grease trap prior to disposal (thereby reducing wastewater contamination in the septic tank), and disinfect the onsite meat hanger. There is no need to purchase, transport, store and handle chlorine and other potentially harmful chemicals.
Reduced monthly costs because there is less need to purchase/store expensive chemicals; costs about 5 cents per 1000 litres of water treated.
Completely disinfects the water; removes colour; removes harmful metals, microplastics and other micro-organisms more effectively than other treatments.
The water is treated with ozone as it flows for use in restaurant operations.
The system is easily installed, easy to use, takes up little room, and is modular for easy maintenance and service.
The system is compliant with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for food and surface sanitization.
